About Other Voices

Other Voices Publishing Society is a not-for-profit organization that strives to be a stepping stone for all published and emerging writers.

We publish quality work that reflects diverse cultural, sexual and regional perspectives. Other Voices is proud of its feminist roots and are drawn to, but not limited to, pieces that also reflect a woman’s life and being.

We strongly encourage the work of emerging writers and artists, as we are committed to helping underrepresented voices find the space to be heard.

Erinne Sevigny recently stepped down as managing editor in order to take up the mantle of Preseident for Other Voices Publishing Society. With Erinne’s success as managing editor and her inspiring drive and energy regarding all things literary, OVPS remains in proficient hands.

Our Managing Editor, Aspen Gainer, started in February 2010. Currently a student
of the Professional Writing Program at MacEwan University, Aspen spends much of
her free time working on the magazine. As an aspiring writer herself, Aspen brings
understanding and an open mind to the editor position.

“I’ve met a wide variety of people in many different walks of life and am interested in hearing the stories of marginalized groups. My goal for Other Voices is to continue to create a safe space for ‘other voices’ to speak out through prose, poetry and artwork.”

Aspen is driven by her desire to bring such stories to light, and she hopes to bring Other Voices to an ever-widening audience.
